Do you post to social media daily? Blog monthly? Create videos every two weeks? Whatever content you are creating, the key to getting sales from your content is consistency. Here are some ways you can create content consistently without wasting tons of time.
1. PLAN AHEAD
Every business should have a marketing plan, and that plan should outline a goal you are working towards. If your goal is to gain three more clients this month, you need to focus your strategy on that goal. Ask yourself, what content will you need to create to make that goal happen? Then go ahead and create it and, if possible, schedule it.
2. Know your core message up, down, backwards and forwards
All your content should focus on your core message. Knowing your core message makes creating content easier because you are essentially repeating your service offering in a slightly different way. The end goal is always the same, every business owner wants to make sales, but these days it’s the experience you take your client on to get to those sales that matter.
3. Recycle old posts and content
You don’t always need to have new content. Since we see so much content daily, it doesn’t hurt to repeat things a couple times. If you have gotten wonderful engagement from a specific post for example, there is no harm in sharing it again down the road.
You can also take old content and make it new again by offering new tips and insights. If you are re-sharing a blog post, you can include what has changed, if anything, since you last posted it at the top of the post.
A bit of advice though, you do need to be careful how much you share so you don’t annoy your customer. If you see engagement significantly drop, that can be a good indicator that you need to change it up.
4. Share your story
If you share what is happening to you or your business regularly, your audience is being exposed to your business more often. You don’t have to sit down and think about what to post because your everyday experiences are already providing the content. You do have to make sure, however, what you are sharing is appropriate for your business. And will still lead you towards your business goals.
5. Create a series
Take a large chunk of content and break it down into a series of 3, 5 or even 10 pieces of content. You can tease your audience this way and they will be more willing to follow you. Plus it will provide you with more content.
6. Automate your content
Even for small businesses, there are several automation options available that are free. It’s just a matter of knowing where to go and what to look for. Automation can make creating content way more manageable, though you still need to have your marketing plans in place and know what you want to post before automating anything. As an aside, it’s always a good idea to get a second opinion on your content before automating it.
7. Outsource your content
Listen, in a perfect world, there would be 48 hours in a day. Unfortunately, that is not the case. If you are struggling to create consistent content for your business, it is worth it, in the long run, getting someone to do it for you. While they are creating content for your business, you can be focusing on other money-making opportunities.
8. Learn new ways of creating content
Lastly, if you have been using the same content creation techniques for years, it is always a good idea to switch things up now and then. Take courses, workshops, and work with other business owners, such as myself, to train you on new programs. You might be missing out on ways to create content that will give your business the boost it needs.
